United Airlines and Archer Aviation are launching a flying taxi service in Chicago in 2025. The air taxi route will transport passengers between O’Hare International Airport and downtown Vertiport Chicago in approximately 10 minutes using Archer’s electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The aircraft, named Midnight, can carry up to four passengers and travel as fast as 150 mph, transporting customers up to 100 miles. United Airlines purchased up to 200 of Archer’s flying taxis last year. The companies aim to offer a more sustainable, convenient, and cost-effective mode of transportation to United customers.
